“Twilight” actor Patrick Brennan will join ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of Shield” in an upcoming episode.
Brennan will play baddie Blackout (a.k.a. Marcus Daniels), Marvel.com reports. Unlike his comicbook counterpart, Brennan’s Blackout has the power to suck the energy out of everything around him. The villain will show his softer side when he falls for a cello player (played by Amy Acker) whose music awakens his soul.
The actor played Liam in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and appeared in NBC’s 2007 drama “The Black Donnellys.”
“It’s just rare to have a character that’s [this] interesting,” he told the site. “There’s just something to it. I’ve been working pretty steady here for the last three or four years, and then this bit came along and it was so empathetically explained to me. … I got to play a villain with a heart and superpowers. It was just a thrill.”
Brennan will have a small part in episode 18, “Providence,” then play a larger role the following week.
New episodes of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” will air on ABC beginning April 1.
